Flex Grip Outsole

This rubber allows excellent flexibility and sensory feedback for heightened grip and balance. Maximized surface area for high friction on smooth surfaces. Divided lugs for substantial grip on loose dirt. Razor Siping maximizes edges that bite into surfaces upon flexion.

Water Ready

All Astral shoes have a special relationship with water. Every component, from the thread to the laces are critically evaluated and chosen for its ability to hold up after constant soaking, to shed water, and not to accumulate funk. Many models have engineered drainage for water to come out while minimizing entry of silt.

Balanced Geometry

We believe that a foot’s position in a shoe should be similar to when barefoot. This allows excellent balance and biomechanically natural lifestyle.

Foot-beds are essentially level (only 1mm drop from heel to toe ) and provide medium arch support.  Tapered instep and heel area for better foothold and control. Wide forefoot allows your feet and toes to spread out for stability.

This G compound is formulated for premium grip while also providing "excellent" abrasion resistance. Its low durometer means the rubber is softer and therefore conforms well to the ground.

  • Too tight but still

    September 09, 2021

As other commenters stated, these are impossible for my daughter to put on by herself, but they are her favorite pair of shoes. She think theyre as comfortable than her Xeros but likes the styling of the Loyaks more. My only other complaint is that they seem to be wearing very quickly. Shes worn them for two and a half school weeks now and there is significant wear to the fabric.

  • Astral Loyak youth

Was really hoping that this show would fit the mark for my 8 year son who is constantly outdoors regardless of the weather. We were looking for a quick drying shoe with more comfort than typical crocs. I absolutely love my astrals for this reason. Unfortunately, this shoe was impossible to get on. The size 3 was not true to size and much smaller than his size 3 new balance sneakers when I compared the two. He could not get this shoe on his foot. So disappointed, the kids market is a great place for astral to expand to if they can hit the mark. We often have sopping wet muddy sneakers that we rotate between. I was able to return easily with a full refund.

  • Missed the mark

    June 27, 2020

Ive been buying Astral products since the initial launch after Lotus Designs. We own life jackets, rescue throw bags and even a dog bed. My husband and I own multiple pairs of Astral shoes, including Loyaks, so I was excited to purchase these shoes for my daughter this spring at our local shoe store. Sadly, they impossible for my very slim (50lb eight year with skinny feet) daughter to put on independently. The last that forms the shoe is too tight, even with sizing up a whole size and has not stretched over time. I emailed customer service who said they were aware of this issue and suggested I return to my original store months after purchase. Im so disappointed in these shoes and the customer service I received. Hopeful future versions of this product will be better and that other parents arent out $75 for shoes that kids cant easily put on.
