When a group member needed better boots on day two of our climb of Mt Kenya, I leant her mine and hiked the rest of the way in the TR1 Mesh shoes I had brought along as "camp shoes". I was already in love, but dang, these shoes crushed it. Rocky scrambles, multi-day pack, long days on my feet, and feeling comfy and light the whole way. Thanks y'all!

I purchased these for a white water rafting trip (6 day guided) in the Grand Canyon and they worked really well as far as grip, water shoes. I recently went back east to Washington DC and Pennsylvania and decided to take these shoes. Wow, I was blown away. I walked miles in these shoes in total comfort and the grip that the soles have were a godsend. These are now my go to shoes for any trip where I will be walking a lot and need shoes that are comfy and don't slip. These are amazing. Usually I have to break shoes in and get blisters, but not with these shoes. I encountered a situation where fellow travelers were slipping on slick conditions and these shoes prevented me totally from slipping. I am 100% blown away by these shoes and will take them everywhere I go.

I've always used Keens or Chacos for water sports until I found Astrals. They blow the others out of the water! :) Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I just received my second pair of these terrific shoes and already love them. After years of struggling on and off with plantar fasciitis, I opted for this low profile shoe with lots of toe room and flex, but still plenty of structure for long runs on roads or trails. The shoes snugly hold my feet in their natural shape, allowing plenty of movement, not forcing them around or into a more rigid form. The mesh is great for wet NC summers but also just fine for winter runs with good socks, even on snowy mountain trails. Another important feature for me is the lack of ornamental stitching across the toe area, allowing my toes maximum range of natural movement. These are excellent shoes.

I walked 9 miles with these shoes the first day I got them and they were amazing! They are incredibly supportive, their grip is ridiculous, they're completely waterproof, they're vegan and environmentally-friendly, and they're adorable! I push carts at work (by hand, not with a machine) and on rainy days, my feet used to slip on the pavement. These shoes make me feel suction-cupped to wherever I plant my feet. Not to mention that if it spontaneously starts pouring, my feet stay BONE DRY (I wear synthetic socks and the water just flows out of the shoes). I'll also wear them through other parts of the building, standing on concrete for 8 hours, and my feet feel amazing. I'm honestly obsessed with these shoes and will gush about them to anyone who will listen. I'm ordering another pair right now.

I am very excited to find these shoes. They have great grip and will be perfect for my up coming 6 day white water rafting trip in the Grand Canyon. They will be perfect for the rafting plus the hiking part of the adventure. Love these shoes.

I've had my Astral's for about two years now and they are the most versatile pair of shoes i've ever owned! I have the TR1 Mesh in red and purple and I LOVE the look and feel of them. They are lightweight, which is a must for me, I hate clunky shoes! The traction is great when wet and they dry FAST! If you are a lover of rafting, canyoneering, or hiking - these are a must!

These shoes are rad! They're my favorite shoes for traveling because I can do whatever I want &/or need in them. They have great arch support for trail running, hiking, or just plain long days on your feet. The tread is great on muddy trails or wet rocks. They're lightweight, fast drying, and super durable. I love em - high performance for outdoor needs on the trail or river, but still cozy and good-looking for hanging out!

When my last pair of water shoes collapsed under too much fun I decided I needed something better. After considerable research with the usual suspects aka Tevas, Keens, etc., I found Astral shoes and ordered this particular one TR1 Mesh Ws and couldnt be more pleased. Because we fish in and out of our kayaks, rocks, shells and muck are commonplace. These shoes are great. Lightweight, durable, drainage-wise they kick butt without all the rocks and silt you would get from others. We are white water rafting this coming spring and these are the shoes I will be packing for both water and hiking components on the trip no more 2 or 3 pairs and the weight to go along with them! Pleased they are eco-friendly as well.

I bought these shoes specifically for a 16 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon, knowing I'd be hiking and getting in and out of rafts. Well, I wasn't disappointed! I found them stable enough to climb elevations quickly, sturdy enough to traverse over slippery surfaces and durable enough that they didn't fall apart. They dried quickly, even after being submerged, which is a plus when you're making camp every night and packing up in the morning. I'd highly recommend them! I also like these over my Keen's because I wasn't getting small rocks under my feet.
I got them on a pro deal to boot!

I wore these shoes every day on a two-week rafting trip in the Grand Canyon: jumping in and out of the rafts, wading in the river, hiking dry land and streams, these shoes were vastly comfortable all the time. They're fabulously lightweight, dry quickly, and, as a bonus, they're adorable. A couple days into the river trip, I resolved to buy a second pair of Astrals when I got home, because I LOVE these shoes!

Love these! I feel comfortable and surefooted on wet trails, through mud, over slippery rocks, and more. It's amazing to get all this in a shoe that's also cute, lightweight, breathable, and less restrictive than my bulky hiking boots. They also dry fast when they get wet, which is a big perk. Planning to make these my go-tos for summer/warm weather hiking and other outdoors activities.

I just tried on a pair of these at my local outdoor store and OMG, soo comfy!!! Unfortunately, I need a 5.5 and the smallest size available is 6. I'd love to support a local business. Please make these in smaller sizes! Some of us have small feet and love to hike!

Love these shoes! I'm not a rafter, but I do a fair amount of regular hiking and puddle-destroying with my toddler, and we cover a lot of ground. I got the red pair, because red shoes are awesome, and the tread is impeccable for skid for my needs. Super comfy if you love a lower-profile shoe. Review lost a star (and might have been more if it wasn't cute and comfy) for the totally BS claim that you can't get foot funk or stank foot. They get run through with water maybe 10-15% of the time, and I was under the impression they'd be okay sockless on a regular basis. Absolutely not my case. Granted, I'm prone to stinky foot, but they weren't when I attempted a new sockless sneaker and now they reek. I take some blame for chemistry and personal grossness, but the claim that they cannot get funky is not true.

I was so in love with these shoes but within 1-1/2 months the navy color material was peeling off the toe box area, which has just got progressively worse. They look terrible and look like I have white paint on my shoes. Within a month I could also feel the material in the heel area crunching like newspaper despite always putting them on correctly. Now within 5 months the inside area of the toe box is coming apart inside the shoes. I just wear these to work in a library, Im not even hiking in them. They are the most poorly constructed shoes I have ever purchased, I cant believe it at this cost.

I think it is pretty crappy that astral doesn't make water shoes in anything smaller than a size 6. These run big and I can't wear the 6 even though I wear a 5.5-6 in a normal shoe. If I want a water shoe, apparently I need to buy kids shoes? That sucks. Also, the fact that they only make high tops in mens based sizes? Sexist and shitty. Girls don't charge hard in whitewater and need a high top shoe? Bullshit. Pretty shitty astral, pretty shitty.
