Agro Grip Outsole

Aggressive 4mm central lugs bite into loose dirt and mud. Perimeter lugs with greater surface area for gripping smooth surfaces. All lugs beveled to help prevent accumulation of mud, snow, dog poo.

Balanced Geometery

We believe that a foot’s position in a shoe should be similar to when barefoot. This allows excellent balance and biomechanically natural lifestyle.

Foot-beds are essentially level (only 1mm drop from heel to toe ) and provide medium arch support.  Tapered instep and heel area for better foothold and control Wide forefoot allows your feet and toes to spread out for stability.

This G compound is formulated for premium grip while also providing "excellent" abrasion resistance. It's low durometer means the rubber is softer and therefore conforms well to the ground.

  • Amazing Shoe!!

    May 28, 2017

I'll be honest not really a fan of shoes, I love to run around in flips and sandals. I run a fly shop and the powers that be say shoes are a must! I picked these because they looked legit, but the are super comfy, lightweight, breathable, and the perfect balance of support! I'm on my feet all day, when not in the shop I'm on the river, trail, or by water, teaching people to fly fish and getting them into the sport! These shoes go from the shop to the trail, to the water, then to the taco shop like a champ! Bought them for work but keep slipping into them for play! Wonderful shoe, Thank You!!! I will be getting more. Fly River Turtle Approved!!

  • Casual but competent, a great all around tough shoe...

    January 29, 2017

I wanted a tough and light casual shoe that would both look good and work for light hiking. With the Donner I have this. The fit is a little small in length (ended up going up a half size) but the return for the right size was easy and worth it. I now have a shoe that sticks to the rocks out here in the desert SW, has a tough nylon upper that actually breathes and dries quickly and looks good without giving off the gym-ninja-runner vibe. The Donner is a shoe that lets you blend in or head for the hills to enjoy some alone time. I have a wider foot and normally like a wide in my size. On the Donner, I am very comfortable in the width they come in. Part of this is the wider toe box, part of it is the EVA foot bed, it is flexible and the way the uppers are attached allows my foot to fill the shoe comfortably. Sort of like wearing a sock, compared to the $1 flip flops that give your feet-hanging-over-the-sides feeling I get from conventional construction shoes in a regular width. All in all, if you want some good looking, tough, light and sticky shoes that are good for casual, travel and day hiking, I think these fill the bill in a big way. Now we need some more colors for these!

  • Great Design!

    January 12, 2017

I have been looking for a trail/casual/everyday/work shoe. Well, I found it!! I love the Donner! I do recommend going up one half size to get your idea fit, as well. Just a great job on this shoe, guys! I hope to see these in more stores, soon!

  • Best trail shoes ever!

    September 06, 2016

This is a shoe that I can wear on the trail and around town later! The Donner looks good but performs better. It is lightweight, comfortable, and has incredible grip. I have never owned a shoe that grips rocks, roots and dirt so well. Nice work Astral! I would suggest bumping up half a size in this shoe. I also have the Brewers by Astral and had to bump up have a size in the Donner.

  • Cool Shoe

    July 24, 2016

Sticky G-rubber with a canvas upper. Very stylish lifestyle shoe that still offers some technical features. My only issue is sizing, I wear an 11 in all Astral shoes and had to go up half a size in the Donner. If you plan to get this shoe wet I would go with the Aquanaut.

  • My favorite Astral shoe by far.

    July 15, 2016

I used these to for the first time while photographing an event for 8 hours. I was on my feet the entire time and never once did my feet get sore or tired. They looked smart with my outfit and people even asked where I got them. I now live in these shoes, from long boarding sessions to going out for dinner with my wife, they breath well and are light weight. Love them.
