Q - Where are you from originally?
A - I was born in Reno,NV. I spent my early years in Norfolk,VA before growing up in my parents home state of Pennsylvania. 

Q - How did you get involved with Astral?
A - I won my first Astral pfd (aquavest 300) In a wet tighty whitey contest at Gauley fest in 2005. I used blue steel to win. I also used to stuff life vests and sew dog beds at the Asheville HQ

Q - What was your first job ever?
A - I had a paper route with a buddy in middle school. My first real job was at a retail camping store in my local mall. 

Q - What is your favorite thing to do?
A - Anything related to mountains, forests and water but whitewater kayak most of all

Q - What is the best thing about selling shoes?
A - Meeting lots of people and their feet

Q - If you had one wish, what would it be?
A - World peace. Or my own bathroom at Bonnaroo

Q - What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done?
A - Watched a Donald Trump speech online

Q - What’s the best thing about the van?
A - The fact that it has a hammock in it.

    May 5-7, 2017 - Hot Springs NC
    This festival is a benefit for American Whitewater, The Mountain Area Child & Family Center and Hot Springs Community Learning Center, is located just 35 minutes north of Asheville at the beautiful Hot Springs Campground and Spa.     The free festival showcases the terrain, environment and unique culture of Asheville, NC and the surrounding mountains.   • Gauley Fest
    September 14-17, 2017 - Summersville, WV
    The festival is a showcase for American Whitewater and the top whitewater vendors in the boating community. The festival will feature live entertainment, a whitewater marketplace, raffle, and a silent auction where you can pick up some awesome outdoor gear. Come out and join us for a weekend of great paddling, exciting camaraderie, live entertainment, killer boat raffles, and the infamous silent auction.

    All proceeds from the festival support American Whitewater's river conservation and access works throughout the nation. Started in 1983 to celebrate the derailment of a hydro-electric project that would have disrupted the flows on the Gauley River, Gauley Fest has grown to become the largest paddling festival in the world. read more »
