General Summary:

This is an entry level position, whose main role is to serve our customers at Astral’s retail space (the Eddy).  Personnel will work with different departments to serve our customers, and gain a broad understanding of our Sales Department.  This person will have face time with our customers in our retail space at Astral HQ, as well as helping to serve retailers via phone and email. 

Job Functions and Responsibilities

1. Eddy Tender - Customer Lover

  • Helping Walk-In Customers in our retail space
  • Help customers choose products for their needs
  • Customer and Order Entry
  • Walk in Warranities/Service
  • Answering Phones and emails
  • Possible opportunity to staff events outside of the office

2. Sales Support

  • Account Order Mechanics
  • Enter At Once orders
  • Revisions for account orders
  • Verify Pick Tickets
  • Drop ship account orders
  • Checking drop ship account portals and entering orders daily
  • Confirming workflow completion and archiving orders in the portal

3. General Office Duties

  • Filing
  • Unloading Containers
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Must have a positive and helpful attitude
  • Friendly and flexible personality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in person, on the phone, and via email
  • Prior retail experience is not necessary, but a plus
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently
  • Must be able to stay focused in an open and sometimes distracting work environment
  • Must be able to work in an office, sit at a desk, lift and move large boxes weighing 30 pounds.

Accounts Payable/Human Resources Clerk

Position Type: Full Time, Year Round

Start date: Mid-March 2018

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

General Summary:

Assist the accounting department by performing accounts payable tasks, entering and paying bills, filing, keeping up with HR compliance, and other clerical/ administrative functions. The job is in a vibrant and upbeat office environment with outdoor minded coworkers.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:

  • Accounts Payable
  • New hire paperwork
  • Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
  • Receiving inventory
  • Expense coding
Other job functions:
  • General office assistance by way of filing and organizing
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Assist (with all other staff) in unloading incoming shipments
  • Occasionally ,you may be required to help with inventory counts or other warehouse tasks
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor within a flexible and busy work environment
  • Ability to lift and move large boxes weighing about 25 lbs.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Candidate should have prior accounting/bookkeeping and human resources experience or knowledge
  • Must be familiar with MS Office, primarily Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks a plus
  • Knowledge of Billing procedures
  • Knowledge of Human Resource compliance and laws
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Friendly, helpful, organized, detailed personality
  • Must be able to stay focused in an open and sometimes distracting work environment

The Backstory

Founded in 2002, our first products were life jackets that were known to promote calm confidence in the most extreme whitewater. 

In 2012 we started making footwear because sandals are awkward, neoprene booties are toxic, and there was no river shoe with adequate grip, let alone good looks.
