Whiney “Allgood” LaRuffa has been hiking around the US since his childhood where he spent his time in the scouts hiking in the White Mountains of NH. At age 18, he completed his first thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, and that journey set his life in motion. From being a ridge runner in college to thru-hiking the Continental Divide Trail in 2016, Allgood loves to spend his time on trail with his dog Karluk as they explore the many wilderness areas around them in the PNW. As President of the American Long Distance Hiking Association-West (ALDHA-West), Allgood spends endless hours helping educate new comers to long distance hiking and encouraging his members to be advocates for our public lands. With his extra wide feet Allgood was stoked when he tried on his pair of Astral TR1 Treks and said, “these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.”
